Chillin’ at the Gili’s

After our Lombok/Flores adventures by boat, we decided to end our Indonesia holiday at the Gili’s. Not much needed for a trip to these three islands, where chilling and relaxing is a fulltime job. The only problem was to find a last minute boat to take us there, without being totally scammed in Senggigi’s harbor. Thankfully we found one that took us straight to paradise: Gili Air!

After a few days we went to Gili T for some alternation; other beach bars, people and cocktails of course! In contrast to Gili Air, there’s much more to do and see. You can rent a bike and explore the island, or go snorkeling at one of the many nice spots. You can even attend a cooking class if you want!

After a nice cup a joe (we haven’t had good coffee in weeks) and some shopping we landed our bums at the Pearl of Trawanang. When you order a drink or meal here, you’re welcome to stay at their pool – with (!) pool bar. You can imagine this day went by too fast. After our sunset dinner we took the ferry back to our temporary home at Air’s north beach, the Lombok Indah.

Today is diving day!! After a short pool repetition to freshen up our memory we finally could swim around the reef to look for turtles. As we never saw one before we were really happy we found a sleepy one relaxing on one of the coral reefs.
